Lane End Inn/Pub Food/Carlisle

The Lane End Inn is a lovely place to eat. Situated half way between Carlisle and Brampton on the A69 (nearer Brampton really). Plenty of parking outside.

You can choose to eat in the Conservatory Restaurant with proper tables and chairs, or in the bar with a roaring log fire (in the winter) and rustic farmhouse style tables and benches.

This is a dream pub for Vegetarians, due to one of the Chefs being one. There are plenty of options on the menu, and if you do eat meat then it is supplied by a local Butcher so is excellent quality.

Main courses are around £8-£10, but there is a "Two meals for £10" section too. There are always specials on the chalk board too, not that you need them as the menu is quite extensive.

The chips are home-made and delicious. I can recommend from past visits the Spinach & Feta Pie & the Mexican Bean Burger, but I often go for the Mushroom, Pesto & Spinach Lasagna.

The desserts are lovely, you really need to leave some room to try one. The meringues for the pavlovas are made fresh every day and are huge - topped with a very generous amount of freshly whipped cream and strawberries. My friend had the Bailey's Cheesecake, which she said was amazing.

The owner Ian, is often wandering about, being very hands on with taking orders and delivering food, which is always nice to see.

Food is served all day, every day, up until about 9.00pm (Double check on this time)
